Police arrest foreigner, recover pistol and Kshs 52 million fake money.

Detectives had been trailing the man for two days following the intelligence report.

The suspect was arrested from a house where he was hiding,


Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested a foreigner and recovered a pistol, 115 bullets and KSh635,450 in Kilimani. Officers from the Trans-National Organized Crime Unit also recovered fake USD 523,900 (KSh52.39 million) from the house of the suspect by the name Arafat Ikumu Omar during the Sunday, September 2, raid.

The operation began on Saturday, September 1, when the detectives acting on intelligence report raided house number A3 at Saphire Heights apartments along George Padmore road.

The occupants refused to open prompting the officers to break into the house.

They found the house girl with two children aged 8 and 11 respectively.

They first recovered fake usd 523900 in denomination of 100, a firearm certificate and KSh14,250.


They also recovered two safes each with KSh140,000 and KSh481,200 respectively and 98 bullets.


The following day, they got information that the suspect was hiding along Ole Dume road. They went to Dayykio Apartments where they managed to arrest him and recovered a Taurus pistol with 17 bullets.
