The ODM leader Raila Odinga has continued to show his immense support towards the government's corruption battle as he called on a lifestyle audit in to his own family wealth in a bid to ensure it was obtained through legal means.
Speaking during at Jomo Kenyatta Sports Ground in Kisumu on Sunday, September 2, Raila, in a rather surprising declaration, said he was ready to sacrifice his own family members if it would mean winning the war on corruption.
According to the former premier, even his late father Jaramogi Oginga Odinga’s wealth should be probed to ensure it was not acquired through unscrupulous means.
“Just like Uhuru recently stated that he is ready to have his grandfather’s wealth audited, I also
ask them to audit me, my father and even my grandfather,” Raila said in his native Luo language.
Raila is the real deal as far as wealthy Kenyans are concerned.
This has raised questions over the years as Kenyans have always wondered how he has remained to be so financially powerful without enjoying much success in presidential elections.
The Opposition figure on Sunday, September 2, was also adamant the war on corruption spearheaded by President Uhuru should be handled with the intensity it deserves as has been witnessed over the past few months.
