The woman is currently cooling her heels in police cell after she was nabbed with a stolen baby at the pumwani Maternity hospital.
The woman, in her late 20s and identified as Mercy Atieno had stolen the baby from the maternity ward and was trying to sneak her out of the hospital in a back pack when she was cornered.
The woman was sneaking the baby out of the hospital.
Asked by the security personnel manning the gate, Mercy claimed the voice was coming from her phone.
According to report from Pumwani, Mercy got the opportunity to steal the baby from its bed after it was left by the mother for some few moments to attend to an emergency.
