A Kenyan Dad in US crashes 18-month son to death with car


The man had returned home to pick a document he had forgotten when the unfortunate incident happened. The child is reported to have sneaked out of the house unnoticed while the mother was attending to their twins.

He crashed the child to death while reversing from the parking lot where the child was walking. Police are investing the incident but will not press criminal charges rather treat it as an accident.

The 18 month child was the grandson of Pastor Moses Mutuma of Miathene Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) church in Meru County.He will be buried in USA.

The child, Mishael Mutuma, is reported to have sneaked out of the house and walked unnoticed behind the car when his father, Dan Mutuma (the child's father), a nurse in Kansas City, crushed him.

According to a report by Fox 4 News, Mutuma had returned home to pick some documents he had forgotten while on his way to a university where he studies. He hurriedly picked the documents, bid his wife Loise, who was tending to their young twins and mother in law goodbye, and quickly left the house when the unfortunate incident happened. 

“It is so painful to the entire family and especially to the father to have crushed his own son. There is no way he could have seen the kid who was playing behind. The child had run unnoticed behind the vehicle as the father was reversing,"

said Mutuma’s brother in law Ezra Kamencu Mingaine. READ ALSO: Raila is the perfect example of a Statesman in Africa - City lawyer Ahmednasir It also reported local Olathe police were investigating the matter but would not press any criminal charges from the incident which they are treating as an accident. 

“The mother-in-law was in the kitchen while the wife was attending to the other twin children. It was so painful, nobody could be blamed for it,” added Mingaine by phone.
